DFA reports lone Filipino Covid-19 case
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) registered a lone Filipino coronavirus disease (Covid-19) case on Saturday, bringing the tally to 8,804.
“Today, the DFA received a lone report from a country in Asia and the Pacific confirming only one new confirmed case and another recovery among our nationals abroad,” it said in a statement.
The agency also reported no new fatalities, maintaining the total number at 594.
The DFA report does not include any other information citing the privacy of the involved individuals.
“As we celebrate World Population Day in the midst of the global threat of Covid-19, the DFA, along with its Foreign Service Posts around the world, continues to ensure the protection of the welfare of our overseas Filipinos,” it said.
The DFA also assured its “full commitment” to repatriate all distressed Filipinos affected by the pandemic.
The agency is facilitating a total of 19 flights this month of July, including four flights arriving in Clark every Friday.
One of its latest repatriation efforts allowed the return of some 323 nationals from Qatar last July 9.
