18.2-M learners enroll for incoming school year: DepEd

Data from the department show that as of Monday, there are 17,401,529 learners enrolled in public schools and 818,137 in private schools.

MANILA – The Department of Education (DepEd) reported that a total of 18,239,528 learners have enrolled in public and private schools, as well as state colleges and universities, nationwide for school year 2020-2021 which begins next month.

Data from the department show that as of Monday, there are 17,401,529 learners enrolled in public schools and 818,137 in private schools.

Region 4A (Calabarzon) logged the highest number of enrollees at 2,537,359 while the Cordillera Administrative Region registered the lowest at 301,072.

The enrollees are from kindergarten to senior high school, as well as learners with disabilities and those taking alternative learning system.
