MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday advised the public that it would not issue voter’s certifications on the days its offices are scheduled for disinfection.

“No issuance of voter’s certification on disinfection day. Starting July 3, 2020, the Comelec main office will be closed every Friday for regular disinfection and decontamination,” the poll body said in a Facebook post.

The Comelec said local offices in other cities and municipalities would also be closed for disinfection and decontamination.

“Field offices will also be closed for disinfection and decontamination as scheduled by the LGU. Contact your local Comelec office for more details,” it added.

Last month, the Comelec announced that every Friday, starting July 3, transactions would be suspended to give way for weekly disinfection and decontamination activities in line with the Department of Health (DOH) Memorandum 2020-0220 and Civil Service Commission (CSC) MC 10 series of 2020.

The offices include the main office at the Palacio del Gobernador and the Offices of the Regional Election Director (ORED) of the National Capital Region (NCR), Region 4-A (Calabarzon), and Region 4-B (Mimaropa) at the FEMII Building.

For questions or concerns, the poll body may be reached through its official Facebook (facebook.com/comelec.ph) and Twitter (@comelec) accounts.
