Coronavirus cases among Pinoys abroad now 8,433

MANILA –  The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Sunday one more Filipino abroad got infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the number of persons overseas contracting the disease to 8,433.
In its case bulletin, the DFA said the additional case is from the Middle East.
The DFA also reported two new deaths and no new recoveries.
The total number of recoveries remain at 5,081, and the total number deaths has climbed to 538.
Meanwhile, a total of 2,814 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.
“As DFA hit the 59K-mark in Covid-19 repatriations yesterday, the Department reassures the public of its full commitment to assisting and bringing home our nationals amid the Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic,” the DFA said.
It also advised overseas Filipinos who need repatriation assistance to contact the nearest Philippine embassy or consulate in their area.
