Covid-19 cases now 28.4K, recoveries at 7.3K

MANILA – The number of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has risen by 288, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Friday.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the department also reported 661 new cases, bringing the total to 28,459.

The figure includes 460 fresh cases or patients who were found positive with Covid-19 and received their test results within the past three days.

Of these fresh cases, 277 were in the National Capital Region (NCR), 21 in Central Visayas, and 162 in other areas.

Meanwhile, 201 late cases were reported – 40 from NCR, 103 in Central Visayas, and 58 in other areas.

Of the total number of cases, a little more than a quarter have recovered from the disease or a total of 7,378 recoveries.

Meanwhile, 14 new deaths were reported, bringing the country’s Covid-19 deaths to 1,130 or a little less than 4 percent of the total number of cases.
