DepEd directors support learning continuity plan
MANILA – The Department of Education’s (DepEd) basic education learning continuity plan (LCP) will support teachers’ continuous professional development and prepare them for the changing landscape of education, a group of DepEd directors said Thursday.
In a statement, the Association of DepEd Directors Inc. (ADD Inc.) said the learning continuity plan would establish programs for teachers “with core values of innovation, leadership, and accountability, ensuring that every Filipino learner will not be left behind” amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
ADD Inc. is an organization which aims to provide opportunities for education leaders to strengthen their capabilities in aiding children in learning.
“With the implementation of LCP, we continue to repose our trust in the leadership of Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones and her team since we have witnessed how she handles DepEd in the crisis. We trust her superintendence in steering DepEd towards ensuring that basic education thrives amid the pandemic,” it said.
The group urged education stakeholders including learners, parents, local government units, parent-teacher associations, non-government associations, and private entities to continue collaborating with the department in offering learning opportunities.
