MANILA – The Pasig City government has vowed to provide nonstop basic services to its residents—who have contracted the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), as well as constant medical support to the healthcare workers and other front-liners.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Vico Sotto shared a video link of his visit to the patients and healthcare workers housed in the Pasig’s Centralized Quarantine Facility at the Rizal High School on Friday night.

Alam kong hindi po madali yung pinagdadaraan ninyo ngayon, pero nandito ho kami para sa inyo para kahit papaano matulungan po namin kayo (I know it’s not easy for you to go through with this kind of situation right now, but we are here for you to somehow help you),” Sotto said.

The city’s quarantine facility, he said, is complete with equipment to ensure Covid-19 patients are properly treated.

Nandito kayo sa centralized quarantine natin para ligtas po tayo pati yung mga komunidad natin at para mapagtuunan natin ng ng pansin yung mga pangangailangan ninyo (you are here in our centralized quarantine to ensure that you and our community are safe, and so that we can focus on your basic needs),” Sotto said during his visit.

Sotto added that a centralized quarantine facility is a safe place for Covid-19 patients, where they can get proper health care and treatment.

Dito, mas maaalagaan ang pasyente. May kama, pagkain, shower, wi-fi, atbp. Mas mahalaga pa rito, sigurado pa tayong sumusunod sila sa quarantine at hindi lumalabas ng bahay (here, patients are being taken cared of. There are beds, shower, wi-fi, etch. More importantly, we can assure that they would follow the quarantine protocols and avoid going out their houses),” he said.

Sotto visited the Covid-19 patients housed in the centralized quarantine facility to look into the patients’ condition.

He encouraged Covid-19 patients to get well and remain strong on their fight against the dreaded virus.

Sana’y mapabilis yung pag-stay niyo dito (I wish for your quick stay here). Hopefully, pag nakalabas na rin kayo, nandito rin po ako para salubungin kayo (if you’ll leave this premises, I’m here to welcome you) God bless. Ipagdarasal ko po ang mabilis ninyong paggaling (I’ll pray for your speedy recovery),” he said to the patients.

Sotto said those Covid-19 positive with mild symptoms or asymptomatic are the priority patients to be isolated in the centralized quarantine facility.

The local government he said, will continue to house individuals who have tested positive for the disease and not been admitted to hospitals, to prevent further risks of spreading Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Sotto also welcomed the newly recovered Covid-19 patient—who was also housed in the isolation center.

Joey, also a former front-liner, considered his stay at the quarantine facility as a comfortable one.

Ang treatment nila sa amin dito is very special. Kasi talagang napakakomportable, lalo na iyong mga na-infect ng Covid, talagang very appreciative namin yung trato nung mga doctor and nurse. Hindi nila kami napapabayaan. Lahat ng pangangailangan namin dito, nabibigay nila (we are treated very special here. It’s very comfortable, especially those Covid-infected, we really appreciate the medical care of doctors and nurses here. They don’t hesitate to provide us all our needs),” Joey said.

Joey urged the public to follow the preventive measures, policies, and guidelines of the government on Covid-19, to prevent further spread of the virus.
