34 new coronavirus cases among overseas Pinoys: DFA
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday reported that 34 more Filipinos abroad were infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total tally to 5,218.
Sixteen more people have recovered in the Americas and Middle East while three new deaths in the Middle East were reported.
No new reports were received from the Americas and Asia and the Pacific.
The total number of recovered cases overseas is now 2,709.
The death toll has climbed to 342.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,400 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.
“With some countries easing their existing travel and mobility restrictions, similar to the transition to GCQ in NCR today, the DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts continue to actively monitor the status of the Filipino community abroad and work to safely repatriate more of our stranded nationals home,” the DFA said.
