157 new Covid-19 cases among overseas Pinoys: DFA
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported a spike of 157 confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among Filipinos abroad, raising the total number to 2,821.
“The spike covers numbers received from one country in the Middle East where data was not updated for almost two months,” the DFA said in a statement.
Based on its latest figures, the Middle East and Europe have the highest number of reported cases at 899 and 806, respectively. Meanwhile, the Americas has the most number of fatalities at 150.
Overall, recovered cases and deaths related to Covid-19 among overseas Filipinos stand at 934 and 334, respectively.
At least 1,553 are undergoing treatment — 135 in the Asia Pacific region, 464 in Europe, 683 in the Middle East/Africa, and 271 in the Americas.
