Over the past few months there has been an increase in the number of racist incidents people are experiencing both across Canada and in or near our neighbourhood of Renfrew-Collingwood. These incidents are deeply disturbing. As a neighbourhood house, we strive to be a welcoming place, working with local residents to give them a sense of belonging in our neighbourhood. CNH staff and our Board of Directors are responding.

The CNH Board of Directors is organizing and hosting a virtual Town Hall on Racism During the PandemicIt will take place this Thursday, May 14 from 7-8 pm both on Zoom and as a live feed on our Facebook page. If you would like to participate via Zoom, please register at https://bit.ly/2xTphad. Simply click on the link to register and you will receive a confirmation later.

CNH Board Directors RJ Aquino and Daniel Louie will co-facilitate the session, aiming to create a safe space where participants can talk about their experiences and also think about what we can do collectively to combat racism and create a more welcoming neighbourhood. Registration spots are limited so please register now. You are invited to send in questions ahead of time to RJ Aquino (rjaquino@tulayan.org) or you can ask questions via Zoom or Facebook during the event.

We hope that you will attend this virtual Town Hall on Racism During the Pandemic, organized and hosted by the CNH Board of Directors. Please share this invitation with your staff, clients and your networks.
