DFA: 17 new Covid-19 cases, 7 new deaths among overseas Pinoys

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday reported 17 new Filipinos abroad infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing its total number to 2,195.

In its case bulletin, the DFA also reported two new recoveries and seven new deaths.

The total number of recovered cases overseas is now 644 while the death toll has climbed to 260.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,291 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.

“Based on the reports received today (Monday), the DFA confirms that Europe and Middle East remain as the hotspots of confirmed cases among our nationals abroad. While most recoveries are reported in the Asia and Pacific at 239 cases, and most number of deaths at 142 in the Americas,” the DFA said.
