Real Canadian Superstore worker tests positive for COVID-19
The Real Canadian Superstore confirmed that one of its team members in one of its stores in southwest Calgary tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The employee who tested positive has not been seen in the 5858 Signal Hill Centre since April 28, the store clarified.
“We understand that you may have questions and [we] want to assure you we take your safety, and the safety of our team, very seriously,” The Real Canadian Superstore wrote in a Facebook post.
“We have a number of protocols in place at the store-level, including daily sanitization and social distancing practices to minimize the risk of exposure to our customers and team members,” it added.
It also assured that it will work with the local public health team for further directions that are needed to be observer and followed.
After learning about the case, the store closed “for an additional cleaning” but reopened on its regular hours the day after.
