PH Covid-19 cases breach 9K-mark; 90 new recoveries recorded
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 295 new persons infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 9,223.
In its latest case bulletin, the DOH also reported 90 new recoveries and four new deaths.
The total number of recovered cases nationwide rose to 1,214 while the death toll climbed to 607.
According to the latest data from the DOH Covid-19 tracker, there are 402,179 face shields, 218,174 goggles, 420,276 coveralls, 332,909 gowns, 641,773 N95 masks, 635,934 shoe covers, 7,701,302 surgical masks and 3,462,418 headcovers available in hospitals nationwide.
Based on the data, a total of 103,692 unique individual tests have been performed in the DOH-accredited Covid-19 testing laboratories nationwide as of May 1.
The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine performed the most number of tests at 44,876, followed by the Philippine Red Cross with 7,616 tests; Vicente Sotto Medical Center with 6,892 tests; Lung Center of the Philippines with 6,642 tests; and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center with 6,250 tests.
