Magnitude 5.2 quake hits DavOcc

MANILA – A magnitude 5.2 quake hit Davao Occidental on Sunday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The tectonic quake struck 168 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at around 9:09 p.m. It had a depth of 132 km.

Instrumental Intensity 2 was recorded in Malungon, Sarangani, while Intensity 1 was reported in Alabel and Kiamba, Sarangani; Koronadal City and Tupi, South Cotabato.

Phivolcs said aftershocks are possible from the magnitude 5.2 quake. Damages are not expected.
