MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) delivered the third set of family food packs (FFPs) donated by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to 4,100 indigent families in Barangay Dampalit, Malabon City Wednesday.

These relief packages are part of the PHP250 million donation given by the ADB aimed at providing families with basic necessities during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, PA spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala said in a statement.

Since early April, the PA in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and other local government units have distributed a total of 7,870 FFPs to the beneficiaries in Malabon and Taguig City.

Each FFP contains 10 kilograms of rice, around 30 to 50 pieces of assorted canned goods and 20 sachets of milk and coffee.

Zagala said the PA mobilized its trucks to deliver these relief items to the recipient communities.

As of this posting, continuous repacking operations are being conducted at Army Grandstand through the combined efforts of Army Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Army Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Army Reservists and other civilian groups.

“The PA is grateful for everyone who is working tirelessly as this project intends to reach around 140,000 households in the indigent communities of Metro Manila. We are also encouraging you to join us in this bayanihan endeavor to help our kababayans in need especially in this time of crisis,” Zagala said.
