Covid positive woman now ‘in stable condition’: San Juan mayor

MANILA – The woman who tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and reportedly tried to escape from authorities is now in a stable condition at a hospital, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said on Friday.

“She is now in stable condition and receiving proper care and treatment,” Zamora said in a statement as he belied that the woman attempted to run away.

Zamora said the hospital could not accommodate her, prompting the City Health and the Philippine National Police to escort her to a different hospital for immediate treatment.

Meanwhile, the city mayor reported that cases of Covid-19 in San Juan have increased to nine.

The new and 9th patient in the city is a 70-year old female and is a resident of Barangay West Crame. She is currently receiving treatment in a private hospital in Manila.

The city government and the San Juan police are currently awaiting the implementing rules and regulations of the community quarantine in Metro Manila which will begin on Sunday, March 15.
