Duterte visited Villaroman’s wake at the Davao Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel in Davao City.

The President was accompanied by former presidential special aide and now Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, the Palace said.

“President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday evening paid his last respects to retired police general Francisco Villaroman,” Malacañang said.

“President Duterte arrived at the Davao Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel and offered his condolences to the Chapel and offered his condolences to the Villaroman family,” it added.

Villaroman, a one-star police general, served as Philippine National Police regional director from 2010 to 2011.

He was also designated as the head of the Davao City Public Safety and Command Center from 2013 to 2016.

Villaroman served as Duterte’s security and anti-terrorism consultant when the latter was still mayor of Davao City.

He also founded security agencies Black Mace 79 Security Agency Inc.
