9 years of Ogie, Regine and they still make people feel the ‘kilig’

In a world of fame and glamour, stars of showbiz are often the subject of the shipping goggles of fans and viewers. Love teams, on-screen partners, and reel-to-real couples are always a hot topic when it comes to different projects. But even without a teleserye or a movie, two ‘songbirds’ (or lovebirds?) are definitely in love and are not afraid to shout it out. One thing’s sure though, the ‘kilig’ is too real.

Celebrity couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez just added a ninth year to their road to forever on Sunday, December 22.

Their voices may blend in the sweetest melody when they sing on the stage, but the love song that they continue to write each day resonates louder.

“9 years ago, I was blessed to start this beautiful journey with you my love,” Ogie wrote in an Instagram post, thanking Regine for allowing him to share their lives together.

“I am so in love with you Regina. Happy Anniversary!” he continued.

Asia’s Songbird made sure to return the sweet message by describing her husband.

“9 years today. Hindi ka pa rin nagbabago. Pareho ka pa rin, lagi mo pa rin ako pinapatawa, pinapasaya, at minamahal (You haven’t changed. You are still the same, you still make me laugh, make me happy, and love me),” she wrote.

Regine was not done in underscoring her love as she added, “Pero ako nagbago na. MAS MAHAL PA KITA NGAYON KESA NOON (But as for me, I changed. Now, I love you more than I did before).”

In ASAP Natin ‘To, the Kapamilya network’s Sunday variety show, after a performance with Sarah Geronimo, Regine was surprised by Ogie with a bouquet of flowers on stage.

While the couple tied the knot in 2010 after being rumored to be dating in 2003 and only confirming it in 2007, they already saw each other years prior, back when Ogie was just starting in the industry and Regine was already shining. However, the relationship didn’t continue as they separated paths and Ogie married Australian beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren.

As the song goes, love moves in mysterious ways. Ogie and Michelle ended their relationship, closing their decade-long married life. Year later, two hearts searched for that old flame and opened up to each other for another chance.

Ogie and Regine have a son named Nathaniel.
