No quake damage in Mindanao airports: CAAP
MANILA — There are no reported damages in Mindanao airports following the magnitude 6.9 quake that jolted Davao del Sur on Sunday, an official of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Monday.
CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said inspections were conducted at the Davao International Airport, as well as airports in other affected areas, which recorded no damage.
Inspections included the airports in Laguindingan, Cotabato, Butuan, Surigao, Pagadian, and Mati.
Apolonio said the General Santos International Airport is currently on a power generator.
The tectonic quake struck 9 kilometers northwest of Matanao, Davao del Sur at 2:11 p.m. Sunday.
Intensity 7 was felt in Matanao and Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, and Intensity 6 in Kidapawan City; General Santos City; Bansalan, Davao del Sur; Alabel and Malapatan, Sarangani; and Koronadal City.
