MANILA — Three students, including the son of a village chief, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Friday.
NCRPO acting chief, Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, identified the suspects as Jessie Jay Pullente, 19, son of Barangay North Signal Village Jesus Pullente; Lance Gabriel Visco, 20; and France Junnifer Monta, 19.
Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a sting operation that resulted in the arrest of the three students along Sampaloc St., Barangay Central Signal around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Recovered from the students were eight pieces of resealable transparent plastic sachets, and one plastic bag containing dried leaves and stems suspected to be marijuana, with a combined weight of around 100 grams and an estimated street value of PHP12,000.
Police operatives also recovered three glass tubes and one bamboo stick, all with traces of suspected marijuana, a lighter, a small plastic container, one pack of empty resealable transparent plastic sachets, a mobile phone, a Hyundai Getz vehicle, and PHP500 buy-bust money.
The suspected marijuana will be turned over to Southern Police District (SPD) Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while the three students have been turned over to the Taguig Custodial Jail of Taguig City Police.
The three will be facing appropriate cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
