Minzy teases new music project in the Philippines

Good news and new music may be coming for the fans of 2NE1, especially the Filipino Blackjacks, as the former girl group member Minzy may have a music project under the record label of actor and talent manager Guji Lorenzana.Guji announced through his social media that he met with the Kpop star and a possible new music from Minzy may be in the works under his label, Open Door Management PH.

“A great time for my management company and the artists of Open Door,” he said in a tweet last December 4, where he mentioned a collaboration with Filipino artist Travis Atreo and f(x) member Amber Liu. “And now a possible music project for Minzy (@mingkki21)! She’s such the sweetest person! Amazing [management] [with] the new team last night.”

Filipino Blackjacks shared their excitement all over social media and couldn’t wait to hear Minzy’s comeback, especially after hearing about the difficulties the Kpop sensation is experiencing with her current agency.

The singer filed an injunction to suspend her current contract with her management, The Music Works Entertainment, last September 25. However, her request to terminate her exclusive contract has been denied by the court.

Minzy spoke about her dispute with her agency in an Instagram post on December 4. She claimed that when she signed her contract, her agency promised at least four albums a year and provide support as much as possible. However, she has only released one album under her label in the past four years and has not received compensation from its earnings.

“More than money, it is the most important to me to be able to continue promoting as an artist. As a result, I hoped to resolve [the situation] quickly by settling with the agency or through an injunction, but it did not go smoothly, so now I can only take legal action in order for the truth to be revealed,” she continued in her post, translated by Korean entertainment news website, Soompi.

The Kpop star hopes to continue her promotions as a singer and promises her fans to overcome her current disagreement with her agency.
