MANILA — The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Thursday won the Gold Trailblazer Award during the Institute for Solidarity in Asia’s (ISA) Public Governance System (PGS) Public Revalida for its bid for institutionalization.

Maj. Aristides Galang, PAF spokesperson, said the event took place at the UNILAB Bayanihan Center in Pasig City.

PAF chief, Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez, presented the transformation story, journey, and aspirations of the Air Force as guardians of precious skies and bearers of hope.

The multi-sector panel led by ISA’s Guillermo M. Luz threw a series of questions to Rozzano and offered suggestions to the organization based on their knowledge and experience in governance, military, and social issues.

The PAF journeyed through the PGS Pathway in establishing institutional transformation and holistic development of public agencies.

With Flight Plan 2028, the PAF set long-term transformational plans guided by the core systems, which constitute all airpower capabilities across all mission areas: Integrated Command, Control, Communications & Computer Systems (IC4S); Integrated Air Defense System (IADS); Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance System (ISRS); Search and Rescue System (SARS); Mobility Support System (MSS); and Surface Strike System (SSS).

The different objectives in every core and support system are the vectors critical in attaining the goal of becoming a more capable and credible air force responsive to national security and development.

In his speech, Rozzano expressed his gratitude to the ISA for mentoring the PAF for five years in its journey towards the institutionalization.

“We (PAF) never stopped developing our men, we never stopped developing our doctrines, we never stopped developing our procedures, and we never stopped strengthening our values and stakeholder engagements,” Briguez said.

The PGS Institutionalization Stage is the fourth and final stage of the governance reform program.

“We, the Air Force, through the Flight Plan 2028, would like to (as)sure you that together with ISA and with God’s constant protection, each and every individual of the Philippine Air Force is ready to take on the challenge. The journey for excellence continues. We will live each day the hallowed words of Lupang Hinirang and Panatang Makabayan. We at the Air Force have four levels of love: God, Country, Family, and Self,” he added.
