The Kpop community has once again lost another angel.

Former member of the disbanded group Kara and actress Goo Hara has passed away last November 24.

According to the police, an acquaintance found her body unconscious at around 6 p.m. at her house in Seoul.

It was revealed that it was Hara’s housekeeper who found her with the police adding, “Based on on-site inspection and testimony from her family, there are no suspicions of a crime.”

With the recent updates regarding the investigation, Commissioner Lee Yong Pyo of the Seoul Metropolitan Police agency stated that “There was a hand-written note found on a table in her living room.”

Another police, however, added, “There is nothing we can reveal about the contents of the note.”

Based on the analysis of a CCTV footage, the commissioner also revealed that Hara came home at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday morning, and never left the house since then. “So it is presumed that she passed away after that time,” he added,

In May, Hara made headlines when she was hospitalized after being found unconscious at her home, following an alleged suicide attempt. Later that month, she issued a statement apologizing to her fans and telling everyone she’s recovering.

“I am sorry for causing concerns and a commotion. In terms of health, I am recovering… I had been in agony over a number of overlapping issues. But from now on, I will steel my heart and try to show up healthy,” Hara wrote, according to Yonhap News Agency.

Grieving industry

The Kpop industry was shaken after the news broke out and celebrities immediately expressed their feelings towards the passing of the idol.

Hara’s fellow member from Kara, Seungyeon, was reported to have allegedly rushed to the idol’s house as soon as she heard the news about her close friend.

Meanwhile, one of Hara’s closest friends in the industry, Kim Heechul of Super Junior, turned his Instagram account to private and unfollowed everyone shortly after learning about her death.

It was also the last leg of IU’s Love Poem tour in South Korea when the news reached the solo artist. According to fans online, IU chose to sing “Dear Name” for her encore, that wasn’t originally included on the concert’s set list.

It can be remembered that Hara was one of the celebrities who expressed extreme grief during the death of her best friend, Sulli, last October 14. Hara even went live on Instagram and was seen crying her eyes out while sharing how she felt at the passing of her dearest friend.

Hara debuted as a member of the girl group Kara in 2007, under the entertainment company DSP Media. The group rose in popularity both in South Korea, Japan, and other Asian countries as well. After almost a decade of promoting, the group disbanded after three of its members did not renew their contract with the company anymore.

Hara recently continued her music career after releasing her latest Japanese single, “Midnight Queen,” and even held a Japanese tour this month.
