Surrey based Artist GLISHA Won the Joey Awards

19-year-old Surrey resident Glisha Dela Cruz won the Best Performance in a Recorded Song category at the recently concluded Joey Awards held on Saturday, November 16th, at the Vancouver Playhouse.  The Joey Awards, now on its 6th year, recognizes young artists and performers all over Canada. Dela Cruz, who is an independent artist, was born in Winnipeg, grew up in the Guildford area of Surrey, and now resides at Surrey Centre.  She currently studies Music Technology at the Douglas College School of Music. Her winning song, Over Myself, which she composed, sung and recorded, has already accumulated over 235, 000 streams, to date, on Spotify alone, not to mention other online music sites, after only a year of release, without any special promotion or paid marketing.
