New look of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ revealed!

People behind the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie finally won the approval of netizens, after it revealed the new look of its furry blue hedgehog hero with supersonic speed.

On the movie’s new trailer released on Tuesday, November 12, our spiky hero no longer has the “human-like” teeth and “disproportionate” legs. This time around, Sonic looks much more similar to the way he was designed on the classic video game version.

If you are going to watch the latest trailer, you can really tell that a big visual change happened.

Comparing it from the first look, Sonic looks more cartoonish and cuter (just like we expect from a hedgehog), with his bigger and rounder face and eyes and lesser teeth.

He also looks smaller and more color-accurate. Sonic was also seen sporting his iconic white gloves and not just his hands with white fur.

It was in May when the netizens picked holes on Sonic’s first look, expressing disappointment over his teeth and legs.

Since the movie director, Jeff Fowler, was willing to make the necessary changes to the protagonist’s look, many of us have thought it would impossible to re-do everything in just a span of months.

The film’s hardworking animators proved us wrong, though, because as the great Sonic once said, “Gotta go fast!”

On Twitter, Fowler, thanked the public for their patience and support, saying he could not be more excited to share the new look of their main star.

“This wouldn’t have been possible without the fans. #SonicMovie,” he tweeted.

Sonic’s character was redesigned along with the new trailer itself, although there were similar scenes there that we saw in the old trailer, which has been taken down by the Paramount Pictures on its YouTube channel. The old trailer, however, can still be searched online as some netizens were able to reupload it.

“Sonic the Hedgehog” revolves around the story of the “world’s fastest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth,” along with his newfound human friend, Tom Wachowski. The two friends team up to stop the main antagonist, Dr. Robotnik, from executing his plans for world domination.

The movie was supposed to be released on theaters last November 8, but was rescheduled in February 2020.
