What was supposed to one of the moments in Kenesha Antoine and Steven Weber, Jr.’s life as a couple has turned into something tragic after the latter drowned while proposing marriage to his girlfriend underwater.

As per reports, the couple was on a vacation in Tanzania in Eastern Africa when the incident happened.

Antoine remembered her boyfriend in a heartbreaking post on Facebook, where she also attached a few photos from their trip and an actual video clip of Weber proposing to her through the window of their underwater hotel room.

Weber was seen holding a paper placed in a reclosable plastic bag that read: “I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. BUT… Everything I love about you I love more EVERY DAY!”

He then flipped the paper to asked this life-changing question to Antoine, “Will you please be my wife. Marry me???” and pulled out a small box from his pocket. Antoine, meanwhile, was heard squealing as Weber showed her a ring.

“You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, ‘Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!'” she said.

“We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable,” she added.

Describing Weber, Antoine said her boyfriend was a “bright light” to everyone he met.

“You never met a stranger, and you brought so much joy to so many people. You were kind, compassionate, you regularly made me cry with laughter, and you showered me with a love like none I’d ever experienced,” she said.

She also asked everyone for prayers for the family and friends of Weber, whom she said, is now “probably entertaining someone with a story about how he royally screwed up that proposal and died while being extra.”

“I will find you and marry you in the next lifetime, and the next, and the next, and the next… I love you so much, and I always will.” Antoine said.

As of writing, there are no further details regarding the incident.
