The Makati police on Wednesday night, September 18, nabbed rapper Loonie and four others during a buy-bust operation in Makati City.

The four other suspects were identified as David Rizon, Ivan Agustin, Albert Alvarez, and Idyll Liza Peroramas, Loonie’s younger sister.

According to the authorities, the transaction happened at the basement of a hotel on Polaris Street in Barangay Poblacion, Makati at 8:45 p.m. They seized 15 sachets of kush or high-grade marijuana worth P100,000, mobile phones, and marked money.

Makati City police chief Rogelio Simon told the media that they have been monitoring Loonie’s gigs for almost a month before the operation was conducted.

Simon said they have been receiving information from someone ‘close’ to Loonie and knows what he has been doing.

“Doon kami nagsimula ng kung ano ‘yung mga susunod na gagawin. Continuous na binibigyan kami ng mga impormasyon, kung saan yung mga susunod na gigs niya, sino ‘yung mga kasama niya, ano mga sasakyan niya, at anong sistema nila. I-fineed sa’min lahat ‘yan ([From that informant,] we started to think of what we should do next. We received information continuously, such as where will be his next gigs, who are with him, what vehicle he will be using, and what is their system. Those [information] were fed to us),” he said.

He added that they also received details that Loonie allegedly makes deals either before, during, or after his gigs in Makati.

“Itong nangyari dito, nangyari ito before the activity na isasagawa niya dito sa Makati (What happened here also happened before the activity he will be conducting here in Makati),” he continued.

Loonie, or Marlon Peroramas in real life, however, denied all allegations against him.

Speaking with reporters, he said, “Hindi po sa’min ‘yan. Hindi po sa’kin ‘yan. Ang cellphone ko po diyan ‘yung isa, ‘yung maliit po hindi po ‘yan sa’kin. ‘Yung pera po tsaka ‘yung lahat ng mga nasa sachet, hindi po sa’kin ‘yan (It is not ours, it is not mine. My cellphone there is the other one; the small one is not mine. The money and the sachets, those are not mine).”

“Pumunta po kami dito para sa batang may cancer, nanggaling pa po ako sa radio interview kanina. Dumiretso po ako dito tapos bigla na lang pong ganon (We came here for a child who has cancer, I even came from a radio interview earlier. I went directly here, then this just happened),” he added.

Loonie is known for his songs such as “Tao Lang” with Quest, “Pilosopo” with Smugglaz, and “Balewala.”
