MANILA — The passenger who died on board a Philippine Airlines (PAL) Vancouver-Manila flight earlier this week has presented a doctor’s certificate, the company spokesperson said on Wednesday.

“The passenger has a doctor’s certificate to fly out of Vancouver. Proper procedures were followed,” Cielo Villaluna told the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

The cabin crew has received a doctor’s certificate, she added.

On Monday, a 63-year old woman was pronounced dead while on board the PAL flight, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) told reporters in a message.

According to MIAA, “(medical) history revealed that patient has breast cancer, with kidney and bone metastasis.”

It said the airline crew apparently noticed the passenger was already weak when boarding the aircraft.

The MIAA said the passenger died of cardio-respiratory arrest etiology end-stage renal failure.
