‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ will be first-ever Pinoy film to be screened in Jeddah

The first movie tandem of Kapuso actor Alden Richards and Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo is flying all the way to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as it claims the title of being the first Filipino film to be shown in the area on August 8.

The good news was announced on by The Filipino Channel (TFC) and Star Cinema on its social media posts on Tuesday, August 6.

“Para sa inyo po ito, mga Kabayan namin sa Jeddah! Tapos na ang paghihintay ninyo (This is for you, our fellow Filipinos in Jeddah! Your wait is over)!” The TFC wrote in its Facebook post.

“Sa wakas, isang pelikulang Pilipino ay mapapanood na natin! Kaya naman yayain na ang lahat ng Pinoy na kakilala mo sabay-sabay po tayong manood ng blockbuster movie na ito starring Kathryn Bernardo at Alden Richards (Finally, you will be able to watch a Filipino film! That’s why invite all your fellow Filipinos to watch together this blockbuster film starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards)!” it added.

Apart from Jeddah, the romantic drama film will also be screened in Singapore on August 8, followed by Taiwan on August 11, Hong Kong on August 18, Malaysia on August 23, Cambodia and Vietnam on August 25, Japan on September 1, and South Korea on September 28 and 29.

“Hello, Love, Goodbye,” which premiered in the country last July 31, has raked in a total of P319,429,863.44 as of August 6, according to Star Cinema.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the film tells the story of two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) based in Hong Kong, Ethan and Joy. Ethan, played by Alden, is a bartender who is romantically pursuing Joy, a domestic helper played by Kathryn.

Kathryn and Alden earlier thanked all those who supported the film and for the positive reviews, they have been receiving.

“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng nanood sa first day ng Hello, Love, Goodbye (I just want to thank those who watched Hello, Love, Goodbye on its first day). Thank you so much,” the actress said in a video message posted by Star Cinema on Instagram.

Alden, for his part, said, “Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for being part of the success of this movie.”
