Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray tells her 6.3 million followers that her life is far from perfect, elaborating the difficulties during her “really challenging last couple of weeks” where she “felt really low in spirit” through an Instagram post last Monday, July 29.

In the image of the Filipino-Australian, she reveals that her motivation for sharing her story is “to share that low moments happen to all of us.

” In her words, “When I find myself feeling down and overwhelmed; where things are out of my control, it helps to remind myself that the only person I can control is myself, to count all the things I have to be grateful for and to plan and look forward to the dawn of a new day.” She concludes, “So if you’re feeling down in the dumps, you’re never alone.

Situations and life are tough…but so are you.” The 25-year-old also uses the hashtag #KeepCalmandLavaWalk.

A few hours later, Catriona posts another image of herself in New York on her personal social media account, captioned, “Leaving all the negativity and running into the week like… Wishing you all an amazing start to the week!

I’m right there with you warriors!”

One of the beauty queen’s most recent public appearance was last Saturday, July 20, where she was the Philippine flag bearer at the MGM Grand Hotel for the Manny Pacquiao match against Keith Thurman. Sharing an image with Filipino boxer Pacquiao, who eventually succeeded in victory, Catriona states, “The legend inspiring the dreams of a generation. Laban Manny Pacquiao! Laban Pilipinas!”

Being amidst the controversy as well of Miss Grand Thailand 2019 Clara Sosa calling her “fat,” the Bicol representative has also recently spoken out about the importance of self-love and gravitating away from body-shaming to her 590,100 Twitter followers, saying, “You are so much more than your body! You are your mind and your unique talents and your character and your life experiences and your personality!

You are so, so much more than the exterior! And people will always remember how you made them feel and not how you looked.”
