Duterte attends aide’s wedding hours after arriving from Japan

MANILA — Fresh from his trip to Japan, President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday afternoon attended the wedding of his aide as among the principal sponsors.

Duterte’s aide, 1st Lt. Kerlyn Kaye Asuncion was married to partner, 1st Lt.

The reception was held at the Tejeros Hall of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Commissioned Officers Clubhouse.

Duterte’s attendance to the wedding comes after his four-day working visit to Japan to attend the 25th Nikkei Conference on the Future of Asia as keynote speaker.

On the sidelines of the event, Duterte had a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe where the latter pledged to grant the Philippines about 25 billion yen (PHP12 billion) for the development of war-torn Mindanao.

He also brought home PHP300 billion worth of investment deals which is expected to create some 80,000 jobs for Filipinos.

Duterte also delivered speech in a business forum attended by Japanese and Filipino businessmen at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
