Matteo Guidicelli reacts to receiving MMDA violation ticket
Twenty-nine-year-old actor Matteo Guidicelli shares his thoughts on social media last Tuesday, May 7, reacting to receiving a traffic ticket via mail from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for violating the yellow-lane rule.
The Filipino-Italian explains to his 1.7 million followers that he applauded the MMDA’s no-contact apprehension policy, which uses CCTV cameras to capture violators.
In Matteo’s words, “So today I got a mail from the MMDA. I opened it up, and guess what I saw. It’s kind of my driver’s fault, but I’m very impressed that I got a ticket right here from the MMDA because my van crossed the yellow line into the bus lane.
” He elaborates, “I’m very, very impressed that the MMDA has this and everything is going digital, and people can actually get caught and sent their ticket at home. So this is really cool,” adding, “Congratulations to the MMDA. This is really awesome.”
The karting racer also adds that to relieve himself of the violation, he must pay P650.
According to data from the MMDA concluded last December 2018, a total of 289,154 yellow lane violators were caught because of the government organization’s No-Contact Apprehension Policy, causing the largest percentage of issued tickets from the total of 539,022 in the entire year. After the yellow-lane policy, the other leading violations included loading and unloading in prohibited zones and disregarding traffic signs.
In the meantime, days prior to the MMDA post, Matteo, who recently enlisted for the Philippine Army last April 15, shares his most recent “humbling experience” visiting the troops in Davao Oriental.
In a photo, he captions, “Our soldiers that give their whole lives to serve and protect our country – much respect.”
