From “moderate,” the net satisfaction rating of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo climbed up to “good,” the latest survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Tuesday, April 23, showed.

The First Quarter 2019 Social Weather Survey revealed that 63 percent of Filipino adults were satisfied with Robredo’s performance, while 21 percent of them were dissatisfied.

This gives the Vice President a net satisfaction rating of “good” +42, up by 15 points from the “moderate” +27 in December 2018.

The 15-point addition, the SWS said, was due to the increases of 26 points in Balance Luzon, 17 points in Visayas, and two points in Mindanao, combined with the two-point decline in Metro Manila.

By areas, Robredo’s net satisfaction score rose from “moderate” to “good” in Balance Luzon, up by 26 points from December’s +20.

It also jumped from “good” to “very good” in Visayas, up by 17 points from the +48 in December.

Meanwhile, it remained “good” in Mindanao, up by two points from the +31 in December, and “moderate” in Metro Manila, despite the two-point decrease in December’s +16.

Sotto stays at ‘very good’ +61

The net satisfaction rating of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, on the other hand, stayed at “very good” +61 between December 2018 and March 2019, with 71 percent of survey respondents satisfied with his performance, while 10 percent were dissatisfied.

His net satisfaction remained “very good” because of the increases in Mindanao and Balance Luzon by three points and two points, respectively, combined with the 10-point decrease in Metro Manila and the steady score in Visayas.

Arroyo stays at ‘poor’ -17

The latest survey also revealed that 29 percent were satisfied with the performance of House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, however, 46 percent were not.

This gives her a net satisfaction score of “poor” -17 in March 2019, up by four points from December’s -21.

The four-point upgrade in Arroyo’s satisfaction score was due to increases of nine points in Mindanao, three points in Visayas and Balance Luzon, combined with the three-point decline in Metro Manila.

Bersamin remains at ‘moderate’ +14

The SWS also revealed that the net satisfaction rating of the country’s chief magistrate, Lucas Bersamin, stayed at “moderate” +14, with 34 percent of Filipinos said they were satisfied with his performance, while 20 percent said otherwise.

The pollster noted a three-point improvement in the overall satisfaction of Bersamin from the “moderate” +11 recorded in December because of the increases of eight points in Balance Luzon, seven points in Mindanao, and four points in Visayas, combined with a 20-point drop in Metro Manila.

This survey was conducted by the SWS from March 28 to 31 of this year, using face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide 360 each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings are as follows: +70 and above, “excellent”; +50 to +69, “very good”; +30 to +49, “good”; +10 to +29, “moderate”, +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”; and -70 and below, “execrable.” The pollster said it considers the movement from one classification to another as either an “upgrade” or “downgrade.”
