SC orders inspection of court houses in quake-affected areas
MANILA — Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Tuesday ordered an inspection of all court houses in areas affected by the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Luzon on Monday afternoon.
In his directive to Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez, the top magistrate directed the inspection of all courts “to ensure the structural integrity of court houses as well as the safety of all judges, court personnel, lawyers and the public.
”
Following Monday’s tremors, the Supreme Court (SC) suspended work in all courts in Metro Manila and Central Luzon pending inspection of the safety and structural integrity of court houses.
The SC gave Executive Judges the discretion to suspend work in other affected areas.
