Actress Heart Evangelista is taking her acting skills to another level, revealing that she will appear in an upcoming international action film.

Heart dropped this news in an interview with Cinema One as she finally shared the reason why she was in China earlier this year.

Medyo nagulat rin ako sa sarili ko (I was also surprised with myself), but you know again, you only live once. Try new things from time to time,” she said.

Although further details regarding her new project — like the title and what is it all about — are still being kept under wraps, the actress did say that it would be released by the end of 2019.

“Not sure kung dito (Philippines) siya ipapalabas (I’m not sure if it will be shown here in the Philippines),” she added.

On January 7, Heart posted on Instagram a photo of her window view while she was onboard a plane on her way to China along with the caption, “As I looked out my window today, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Here I am about to embark on an adventure like no other and I couldn’t be more excited.”

This post made noise on social media as some netizens started to speculate that her trip had something to do with the much-awaited sequel of the hit movie “Crazy Rich Asians.”

Heart, however, denied such rumors, tweeting, “For those of you asking, I am not in China to film for crazy rich 🙂 I am here for something else — can’t wait to share.”

It was in July 2018 when the Kapuso actress confirmed to GMA reporters that she auditioned for “Crazy Rich Asians.” She shared that Kevin Kwan, the author of the “Crazy Rich Asians” novel, told her she “almost” got included in the film, but Heart did not elaborate why she was not able to make the cut.
