MANILA – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Thursday honored the community spirit of the Manolo Fortich town in Bukidnon as it celebrates its 102nd Charter celebration.

“This gathering of various interests from the public and private sectors is reflective of the community spirit that lies at the foundation of this outstanding municipality. The harmony is inspiring and could be a template for other towns and cities to emulate,” Andanar said in his speech.

Andanar, the guest speaker in the event, commended the first-class municipality for having both the first large-scale pineapple plantation in the country and exciting tourism destinations.

“There are various methods of realizing the full potential of a local government unit, and your town has shown, one of the best ways for sustained success,” he said.

The PCOO chief recognized the deep ancestry of the town as one of its foundations for its present success. He said the town’s more than a century of history gives meaning and purpose to contemporary concerns.

“You are the generation of past memories, present experiences, and future dreams. You span a timeline that tells you how you must remember where you came from, what you must do with those remembrances today, and how best you can relate your present activities to the achievement of your ideal objectives tomorrow,” he said.
