Pia Wurtzbach unveils Madame Tussaud’s wax figure in Manila
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has revealed the look of her Madame Tussaud’s wax figure to her Filipino fans on Thursday, March 28.
The wax figure represents the beauty queen wearing the blue Michael Cinco ball gown she wore during the Miss Universe 2016 coronation that was held in the Philippines, where she crowned her successor Iris Mittenaere from France. When it comes to the reasoning behind why that particular moment in Pia’s career was chosen to be duplicated, she elaborates that she wanted everyone to “experience what it’s like to strike your most confidently beautiful pose and receive the crown yourselves!”
She then revealed that the world-renowned fashion designer recreated the same gown just for her wax figure, which was originally imported from Hong Kong. Cinco himself shares, “Dressing up her wax figure and to represent our country are already an honor and a great experience in my career. It’s an impalpable dream come true.”
During the press launch at the EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City, Pia was seen taking photos with the wax figure, recreating the hair and makeup as well once again. She revealed how pleased she was with the replica, saying, “I just felt really good at the time so I guess that radiates.” At the event, she was joined by Madame Tussauds General Manager Jenny You and various representatives from Cathay Pacific.
In an Instagram post, Pia elaborates on her reaction, saying, “It’s surreal to see my wax figure in the flesh…and I’m really really honored to be the first Filipino to be part of Madame Tussauds! Dedicating this to my family, loved ones, and to all Filipinos!
” She concludes in Filipino as a message to her fans, “Thank you for supporting me for all these years.”
Pia’s wax figure will be viewable to the public starting Friday, March 29 at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall.
