MANILA — The camp of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. asked the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) on Monday night to resolve soon its pending motions, in connection with his election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.

Marcos’ camp also urged the PET to investigate all the concerned chairmen and members of the BEIs (Board of Election Inspectors) who served in the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Maguinandao and Basilan. (File Photo: Bongbong Marcos/ Facebook)

This week marks the 1,000th day of the election protest filed by Marcos against Robredo.

In a motion, Marcos’ lawyer George Garcia urged the Supreme Court, acting as the PET, to “direct the Voters Identification Division of the Comelec-ERSD (Election Records and Statistics Department) to conduct a technical examination of the signatures and/or thumbprints appearing on the VRRs (Voter Registration forms) and EDCVLs (Election Day Computerized Voters List) of the entire 2,756 protested clustered precincts of Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Basilan in connection with the May 9, 2016 national and local elections”.

Marcos’ camp also urged the PET to investigate all the concerned chairmen and members of the BEIs (Board of Election Inspectors) who served in the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Maguinandao and Basilan.

“Everyone will agree that three years is way too long to wait for the true results of something as important as the second highest position in the country. The voters want their votes to be counted. They expect no less,” Garcia said.
