It’s a success for Kapamilya actress Bea Alonzo last Monday, March 11, as she surprises her actor/basketball player boyfriend Gerald Anderson with a 30th birthday celebration at Mess Hall, Makati City. Gerald’s real birthdate is on March 7.

In a series of Instagram videos shared by Star Magic Philippines, the celebrant can be seen wearing an all-black outfit, which followed the theme of the event. The venue was decorated in black, silver, and transparent balloons, while Gerald was seen blowing out a three-tiered metallic cake. #TrentaNaSiBudoy was the hashtag used for the night, which pays ode to Gerald’s title character in a Kapamilya series that aired in 2011. Amidst the speeches and games, celebrity couple Rayver Cruz and Janine Gutierrez even gave the birthday boy a special song number. Bea and Gerald responded with their own performance as well through the song “Someday We’ll Know.”

“A night of fun and bonding ensued at Gerald Anderson’s surprise 30th birthday bash organized by Bea Alonzo,” was how Star Magic Philippines described the night, while the celebrant himself responded with a series of photos captioned, “I feel like I’m doing something right in my life from all the love from last night,” tagging his girlfriend Bea Alonzo for the “amazing surprise.”

Most recently, Bea herself posted a sentimental message in honor of her on-screen and real-life partner’s special day, saying, “You are a wonderful man. Happy birthday, babe. You are my great love story.”

Gerald and Bea first got together in 2010, but their relationship was short-lived that year. In 2016, they rekindled their love for each other after co-starring in the film “How to Be Yours.” They broke up once again in 2018, but Bea confirmed in October that she was giving Gerald “a second chance.”

Besides acting, Gerald has been pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a basketball player, recently participating as a defensive guard for Manny Pacquiao’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), where he sported jersey #3 for the Marikina Shoemasters. Bea posted a photo on Sunday, March 3 wearing her boyfriend’s jersey, showing her appreciation for his new career endeavor.
