Malaysian PM set to arrive in Manila Wednesday night
MANILA — Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is set to arrive in Manila via a chartered flight at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.
Mahathir will arrive and depart at the Bulwagang Kalayaan in Villamor Airbase, the MIAA statement read.
This is Mahathir’s first time to visit the Philippines since he returned as Malaysia’s prime minister in 2018.
Malacañang earlier announced that Mahathir will be here to reciprocate President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit to Malaysia in July 2018.
Duterte and Mahathir will “hold a bilateral meeting and discuss cooperation in the political, economic and people-to-people spheres, and exchange views on topics of mutual importance”.
The Malaysian leader will leave the Philippines at 3 p.m. on Friday.
