Dayanara Torres reveals good news about health condition
Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres delivered a piece of good news to the universe: her cancer is not spreading to another part of her body.
She disclosed this in an Instagram post on Friday, March 1, as she posted a video of herself speaking in her native language. The English translation is written in the caption.
“I’m so Happy to give you some good news… last week’s tests show that my cancer is not spreading & is not reaching any of my organs!!!” the beauty queen wrote.
Earlier in February, Dayanara said she has been diagnosed with what is said to be the most dangerous form of skin cancer — melanoma. She shared that she discovered a “big spot/mole” which she never paid attention to until it grew and had an uneven surface.
Dayanara had said she already underwent a biopsy and surgery after being convinced by her fiancé, Louis D’Esposito, and the results, she noted, sadly turned out to positive.

In her Friday post, the Puerto Rican beauty queen thanked everyone who prayed for her recovery and supported her as she faces “this very difficult time in my life.”
She also expressed gratitude to those who recommended her the “Heal,” a documentary film by Kelly Noonan Gores.
“It talks about the phenomena called ‘entanglement’ and proves how so many prayers have reached me, even when I’m miles & miles away from you… Because we are all connected… it works,” she said.
Dayanara shared that her first radiation treatment is scheduled on Friday. During those times, she said she “might get a bit weal and [have] some muscular pains.”
“I’m asking you… Keep Praying, keep having me in your Prayers. I am forever Grateful to all of you and the mountains you all are being able to move for me… With All of My Heart & Soul… THANK YOU,” she ended.
After her 1993 reign, Dayanara flew to the Philippines to pass the crown to her successor, Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen. The former Miss Universe then ventured to the world of Philippine entertainment, as she became an actress and television host in the country.
In 2017, she returned to Manila as a judge for Miss Universe 2016, which was bagged by the French beauty queen Iris Mittenaere.
