Céline Dion unfazed by body shamers: It’s what I want to wear
To all body shamers out there, the queen has spoken for this is the time to leave her all by herself.
Sporting cuts and seams of different styles of couture, Céline Dion slays in her Instagram profile, blessing the feeds of her followers. But the attention garnered from public posts, attracts also the negative ones, in this case, body shamers.
Amidst the hearts and praises she receives on her photos, some netizens still had something to say about her weight.
Despite the defense of her loyal fans, her posts still get comments like “Way too thin and I like thin girls…” as per Instagram user @thekrupnickapproach, or “Don’t know what’s happening to this lady, she looks as though she’s just come out of Belsen.
Far too thin and gaunt!” according to @allenjudith3.
Some even had to tag on anorexia just to raise a point.
The Queen of Power Ballads seems unfazed though, knowing that she is doing these for herself – no one else.
“I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine, and sexy,” she tells The Sun in an exclusive interview, knowing that way before, work “was more conservative.”
“If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone,” she adds.
Dion feels that she discovered a “second wind” at life by dressing the way she wants to be. This after the death of her husband, René Angélil in 2016.
At 50, she knows that these fashion statements are not about ‘taking chances’ as these have always been a part of her.
“It’s what I want to wear… I want to do whatever I choose to be,” she says.
