Twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, the children of celebrities Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, welcomed the milestone of celebrating their 18th birthday in a significant way with their family last Saturday, January 5 at The Cellar in Bonifacio Global City.

Their mom Carmina posts a photo of the twins blowing out their candles, captioned “Happy Birthday to my favorite twins Mavy and Cassy! We love you so so much.” Their father Zoren then shares a photo of Cassy behind a glass of red wine and captions, “She’s turning 18 in a few hours” followed by crying emoticons, referring to the twins’ official birthdate on January 6. Mavy and Cassy themselves posted photos on their respective personal accounts on how ecstatic they were to be turning 18.

After most recently signing as GMA-7 talents, both Mavy and Cassy wowed netizens as they shared their official pre-debut pictorial shots and video by Nice Print Photography and The Concept Room Studio. The two were dressed in custom-made creations by Filipino fashion designer Neric Beltran, with head of production Charisse Tinio revealing that the twins requested for “a play of colors” which is “very millennial.

” In her words about the shoot, she “wanted one to be formal and elegant and the other in a very laid back bar party scene,” saying, “I wanted to show that even if they are twins, they have their own individuality.”

In a recent press conference for show “Sarap, ‘Di Ba?” which the Legaspi twins host with Carmina, their mother reveals that she gives her children the freedom to make their own choices, including showbiz decisions.

In Mina’s words, she and her husband prefer that the kids prioritize their studies, but “when they got an offer from GMA Artist Center to work, [they] talked about it carefully.” She shares, “We asked them if they really wanted to do this. We gave them the freedom to decide. And then they said ‘yes,’ they wanted to give it a try” using the cooking show as a “testing ground” for the twins.
