Liza Soberano bags No.4 on 2018’s ‘100 Most Beautiful Faces’ List, now a Hall of Famer
Twenty-year-old Liza Soberano finds herself on TC Candler and The Independent Critic’s “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World” for the fourth time, this year bagging the No.4 spot on the list, falling behind Yael Shelbia from Israel, Chou Tzuyu from Korea, and Thylane Blondeau from France. Because Liza has made it to the top 100 multiple times, she was also hailed a Hall of Famer, one British critic stating that her beauty being above standards is “hall of fame worthy.”
Explaining his reasoning, TC Candler shares with his fans that, “For almost 3 decades, TC Candler and The Independent Critics celebrates the facial aesthetic with the most international and diverse beauty list of them all,” adding that the judges “search far and wide, listening to the many millions of suggestions submitted by the public over the past couple of decades, putting together a list representative of the modern ideal of worldwide beauty.” He clarifies that “This is not a popularity contest. Rather, it attempts to inform and broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it.” According to TC Candler, what they look for “in a beautiful face” is “grace, elegance, originality, daring, passion, class, poise, joy, promise, hope” and that its “aesthetic perfection” is the “one and only criteria.”
Liza’s highest ranking in history was at the No.1 spot, as she was hailed “Most Beautiful Face” last year. Fellow Filipinas who made the list along with Liza in 2018 include Jessy Mendiola at 55th place and Nadine Lustre at 70th place. TC Candler also released a “Most Handsome Faces of 2018” list, which included Filipino actors James Reid and Daniel Matsunaga. Number one spot was given to “Aquaman” star American actor Jason Mamoa. More than 40 countries are represented on the list yearly.
