A total of nine celebrities were honored with a golden star at German “Kuya Germs” Moreno’s project at the Eastwood Mall Walk of Fame, namely Pia Wurtzbach, Derek Ramsey, Julia Baretto, Ken Chan, Rico Hizon, Vhong Navarro, Dr. Jose Perez, Chito Roño, and Marichu Vera Perez Maceda.

Moreno collaborated with Megaworld Corporation to honor those that have contributed a great part to the evolution of the entertainment industry.

Filipina beauty queen/actress Miss Universe 2016 Pia Wurtzbach shares how her “heart was pounding as they unveiled [her] star at the [Walk of Fame in Eastwood],” sharing in a social media post, “Thank you for this great honor and for recognizing my achievements even though I still feel like a newbie in the business. Thank you also to the German Moreno Foundation, and congratulations to my fellow recipients last night!” referring to the ceremony that occurred last Tuesday, December 11.

She adds, “But you know what, the real stars are the people who work behind the scenes. I salute your hard work – the time, patience and effort – to make sure that what you watch in front of the camera is something we can all be proud of,” concluding, “To my family, all my fans and supporters, thank you! This star is for you.”

On the other hand, after the announcement of inductees, many wondered why Julia’s love team partner Joshua Garcia was excluded from the list, along with fellow Kapamilya stars James Reid and reel-and-real life partner Nadine Lustre. Moreno and the Walk of Fame board were quick to explain that “the love teams were actually invited. Unfortunately, they can’t make it,” adding that the board is “very very strict” and “presence is really required.” However, he explains, “What we do [anyway], once you are nominated, we try to nominate again next year,” happy that the small number of celebrities inducted for this 13th year is “more intimate.”
