Actress Sam Pinto has made her relationship with professional basketball player Anthony Semerad public as the two shared about their relationship status on their social media profiles last week.

Last Wednesday, October 17, Sam shared a picture of her and Anthony enjoying the poolside and captioned it, “And so the adventure begins with this one.” Anthony also posted a photo capturing a moment of the couple smiling at each other saying, “It’s very rare to meet someone who is basically the exact same person as you. There is never bad vibes, jealousy or competitive egos between us, we’re just two people chasing dreams that want the best for each other.”

Anthony’s friend, who remains anonymous, reported that the two met at a party and began dating, becoming official only a few weeks ago. The friend added, “They plan to go to Australia for Christmas holidays,” because that’s where Anthony’s family is from.

Sam was most recently with Philippine Azkal Misagh Bahadoran, but the football player admitted to the press of their breakup months ago. Anthony’s last public relationship was with the daughter of actress Lourdes “Malou” Bien, Andrea Bien.

Many netizens responded to the news with both positive and negative reactions. An account under the name Mariah Jennilyn commented on Sam’s photo saying in English and Filipino, “You look so much better! There is so much chemistry! You will get married! Go go go!” A certain Cita Sanchez even called Anthony more “decent with class, unlike the other guy.” Another user joked about Sam’s relationship with athletes saying, “She got tired of the football player, so now it’s time for a basketball player.” Yet, ultimately, the couple got the support of their family and friends, the controversial Franco Mabanta expressing his happiness commenting, “Congrats Sammy! Seen you now through four serious [relationships] and hope this is the happiest of them all.”
