Princess Hours Thai lead Tao Sattapong Piangphor received an extravagant welcome from Filipino fans as he arrived in the country this previous weekend.

Before his meet-and-greet held at Cinema 6 of SM City North EDSA last Sunday, September 23, he held a press conference at Novotel in Cubao the night before. Tai shared about excitement being in the country, stating in Thai, “I’ve been wanting to visit the Philippines because I’ve heard that the food is good, the country is beautiful – beautiful beaches and beautiful scenery – and the people are nice.”

The first thing that caught his attention upon arrival into the country? The transportation. Tao shared, “I wanted to see the jeepneys. And surprisingly, no traffic because there was a rider in front. Compared to Bangkok, this is better traffic.”

To amuse the crowd, Tao also shared that and demonstrated saying ‘thank you,’ ‘I love you,’ and ‘I’m hungry’ in Filipino.

One of the final questions of the press conference questioned Tao’s openness to working on a project in Manila, which he jokingly responded by saying, “My manager is back there. Please contact him.”

The Thai actor is known as the crown prince in the Thai remake of Princess Hours, which is shown daily on GMA-7. He shared how he was surprised to have so many fans in the Philippines, only recently aware that the show was broadcasted in the country.

He said, “The poster was tagged on Instagram by fans, and I didn’t even know that it was brought here. And then I followed the tags on Instagram because people would tag me on Instagram, and when I started to see that the ratings in the Philippines started to rise, and that was when it dawned on me, and I felt proud,” continuing, “So I’m really really happy to be here and do the event tomorrow.
