It was a dream-come-true for blind fifteen-year-old Zaika as Sarah Geronimo’s boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli arranged a major surprise for one of her biggest fans.

Matteo reported that he initially met Zaika at a meet and greet, where the teenager shared her love for Sarah’s music. Immediately, he invited her to perform ‘Ave Maria’ during the program for the launch of his jeans brand at a mall in Taguig. Matteo shared that the song is his grandfather’s favorite and that he teared up during her performance.

After Zaika sang, Matteo told her that Sarah was ready to speak to her on the phone all the way from Dubai, which made the fan nothing but ecstatic. In a video uploaded on Twitter by Zaika’s friends, the teenager is seen smiling and greeting her ‘Ate Sarah,’ while Matteo adds in Filipino, “She’s the one you heard earlier!” The post captioned in Filipino, “Sarah’s voice is beautiful through the phone. Happy for you, Zaika.”

Zaika is part of the Northern Luzon Association for The Blind Inc., which is Matteo’s chosen charity in collaboration with his jeans line, designed by Avel Bacudio. His store can be found at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City.

Matteo also told Pep.ph that his girlfriend Sarah has been very encouraging to him throughout his career, stating, “She’s always there for me. She’s always supportive, so I’m very grateful.”

As for Sarah, she is currently on her international tour celebrating fifteen years in the industry. The tour is entitled “This 15 Me,” which is named after her thirteenth studio album. It features guest appearances of artists Xian Lim, Mark Bautista, and the G-Force dancers. After the Dubai leg of her tour, Sarah will also represent the Philippines in Tokyo at a music festival that gathers all of Southeast Asia’s most popular singers.
