Another hike in pump prices slated Sept. 18

MANILA — Local oil companies are again set to implement increases in the prices of their petroleum products effective Tuesday, Sept. 18, as the uptick in world crude prices continue.

In separate announcements, spokesmen for these firms announced price increases of PHP0.50 per liter of unleaded gasoline, PHP0.15 per liter of diesel, and PHP0.20 per liter of kerosene.

It can be recalled that last Tuesday (Sept. 11), the prices of all liquid fuels were raised by PHP0.65 per liter.

When this price adjustment takes effect at 6 a.m. tomorrow, the local pump price of diesel would have gone up by a total of PHP2.00/liter, while gasoline would have increased by PHP2.10/liter this month.

As in the past, the oil firms said these price adjustments reflect upward movements in the international market which are simply being passed on to the Filipino consumer.
