The “Asia’s Phoenix” was supposed to join Shane Filan in his concert this weekend at the KIA Theatre, but sadly, this will no longer happen.

Last June, it was announced that Shane, the lead singer of pop boyband Westlife, will be returning to Manila for a new solo concert which will be held on Saturday, September 15.

Morissette was among the guests who will join Shane on the stage, but Stages and RankOne on Friday, September 14, said the 22-year-old singer will not be able to perform as she was given strict orders by her ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist and surgeon, Dr. Gerard Agcaoili, to rest from “any strenuous vocal activity within a period of 10 days.”

“We sincerely apologize to the promoter, Wilbros Live, and to the fans, for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding!” it said.

Morissette previously revealed the reason why her concert in Dubai last August was delayed for two hours — that is because she suddenly lost her voice just 10 minutes before the show began.

“Nag-panic po kami kasi hindi kami prepared (We panicked because we are not prepared). Hours before, I was totally fine. Pero we — me and my family and my management — felt like naniningil na po ‘yung katawan ko sa kaka-travel ko (my body got burned out from traveling),” she said in a press conference.

The Kapamilya star shared the unexpected event that happened in her Dubai concert was not only the most challenging experience she had in her entire career so far but definitely a learning experience for her and her team.

Shane, in his show, will feature hit songs like “Swear It Again,” “Uptown Girl,” “You Raise Me Up,” and “If I Let You Go.”

He will also be performing songs from “Love Always,” his third album since Westlife parted ways in 2012.
